Rural Electric Co-ops

Rural Electric Co-ops are member-owned non-profit utility companies.

At POW Action Fund, we believe in sourcing power locally, which is why we support Rural Electric Cooperatives. These member-owned, non-profit utility companies have served rural communities since the 1930s, giving members a say in where their energy comes from and who runs the show.

Co-op board elections typically see low voter turnout, leaving decisions in the hands of a few, and historically, favoring traditional energy sources. As a member, your single vote can help elect leaders with a vision for cleaner, cheaper energy and local clean energy jobs. That’s real power, close to home.
