How We Use Your Donation

We may be small. But thanks to you, we are mighty. See how far your donation can go.

Supporting the clean energy transition with Rural Electric Cooperative elections

  • POW Action Fund works on Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) races to support the clean energy transition at the local level. RECs are nonprofit, member-owned utilities that provide power to their local communities and have leverage to demand more renewable energy sources from providers.

  • We’re focusing on REC board races in Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico, providing training and support to candidates, engaging the Alliance with digital campaigns and get out the vote efforts, and earned media

“This was an incredible experience and I really can’t thank you enough for all your help. I am beyond grateful that Clayton established this communication [with POW] and you were so quick to contribute funding, expertise and support for this election. I can confidently say that without the help of POW I don’t think we could have pulled this off.”

Max Moran, winner of Jackson, WY’s Lower Valley Energy REC race

Get Out the Vote efforts

  • With the help of our Alliance members, we’re coordinating voter registration efforts, recruiting volunteers, and conducting widespread get out the vote efforts
  • In 2024, we’re focusing on elections in Montana and Colorado’s 3rd district, where we know the Outdoor State can have an outsized impact and win at the margins

Mobilizing our community for climate advocacy

  • Empowering our Alliance through D.C. lobby days and meetings with lawmakers and government officials to support climate solutions
  • Progressing the POW’s community benefits legislation aimed at improving energy transmission and unlocking the full potential of the historic Inflation Reduction Act
  • Protecting the climate provisions passed in the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Protecting our cherished public lands from oil and gas development
