Where We’re Working
Pennyslvania
Pennsylvania residents are experiencing more intense precipitation with a large increase in winter rain. Climate change is causing a roughly 70 percent increase in particularly heavy rain events impacting forests, washing out trails, and flooding lakes. Climate change has also caused an interruption in migratory bird patterns and Pennsylvania’s ability to act as an important migration corridor. Rising temperatures have led to shorter winter seasons and an increasing loss in important recreational activities like ice fishing and cross-country skiing, impacting the state’s growing $17 billion outdoor recreation economy which supports 164,344 jobs.
GET INVOLVED
Elections in Pennsylvania are won by razor thin margins– often by just a few thousand votes. By activating Pensylvania’s skiers, hunters, anglers, cyclists, and climbers to volunteer for just two hours, we can help climate champions win across the ballot in November.
